About The Bean Registry
The Bean Registry is an independent directory of coffee beans and pods: 857 coffees (369 beans and 488 pods) from 104 roasters and brands, sorted by roast, origin, process and how they taste.
What it is for
Coffee bags and pod boxes say a lot and explain little. The registry puts every coffee in the same format, so you can compare a light-roast Ethiopian with a dark Sumatran, or a Vertuo pod with a K-Cup, on the same facts: where it comes from, how it was processed and roasted, what it tastes like, and what it brews well in.
Alongside the coffees are pages for each roaster, 28 coffee-growing countries, a brew guide for the common methods, and a journal of plain-English guides.
Where the information comes from
Every value on a coffee page comes from the roaster's own product page, a retailer's listing or our own checks, and we keep the source link and quote for each one. When a source doesn't say something, the page says "not stated" rather than guess. How we research →
Independent, and how we earn
No roaster pays to be listed, and nothing pays for a better description. A paid placement, if we ever take one, is labelled Sponsored wherever it appears.
Some buy links may earn The Bean Registry a commission, including as an Amazon Associate. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Commissions never decide which coffees we list or what we say about them, and you pay the same price either way.
Prices are shown as a tier ($ to $$$$) with a typical range per ounce or per pod, not a live price; the shop sets the current price, stock and shipping.
Who runs it
The Bean Registry is operated by G4Core LLC. Its sister site, Extraction Lab, covers the gear: espresso machines, grinders, pod machines and brewers.
